Pulau Ubin

Yes, I went to Pulau Ubin. (click pic to enlarge)

This wonderful trip was initiated by lattegal, in conjunction with the strong desire to eat seafood, supported by many friends. Thanks to lattegal, we are able to force ourself to wake up early and enjoy a fabulous day.

The long awaited 05 Aug 06 had finally arrived. I woke up at 730am to get ready. Pack my bag la, put sunblock la, makeup la... I arrived at Jurong East MRt 10 mins early! Took a train to Tampines with MeeC-min. There UncleSK pick us up in a cab (by the way, i was starving by then)

We reached Changi village at about 11+. I rush to the famous Nasi Lemak stall without a moment to lose. Its a matter of life and death that i had to eat that particular Nasi Lemak. Its the hunger la. Waited v long for the food. By then, i am v.v. hungry. It was good!

By then, Aud is still nowhere to be seen. I was wondering whether she would really come as she is the anti-sun gal you know. She make her enterance just as we are about to finish our brunch. :)

By 12+, we are all set to go(except for lattegal who join us much later as she is bringing her papa to see sensei). The boat ride was surprising ok. Upon reaching Pulau Ubin, MeeC-min and I begin taking pictures, nice scenery man! Of cos, i didnt take a photo at the sign "welcome to pulau ubin". Guess who took? :p

We split into two teams for the first half of our day. MeeC-min, Elise, AnAn & gang took off with bicycle. Aud, UncleSK and me trek.... oh my, we really trek man... i was almost near death from exhaustion half way... But we manage to trek half the island, (refer to map)

We met many interesting people/incident on the way. We saw Ah Chek the wild boar, raised by a uncle who lived on the island all his life. He make a living only by selling some rabbits, drinks etc. Though tough, he seemed to be contented. His grandson was there, playing with rabbits and cars... we were there, enjoying a nice cool drinks and taking photographs... i even touch Ah chek hair, feel like wire!

We also saw durian trees, rambutan tress(a nice uncle gave us some fresh from the trees!), banana plant, papaya trees etc... i also saw many people waiting for durian to drop.

We took a break at 3pm, all of us gathered at the jetty drink stall to meet lattegal, who had manage to make her way there alone! We had a coconut cum junk food feast there... By then aud was ready to go back and join her deardear.
We decided to cycle for another 1.5 hours b4 eating seafood.

This time, me and uncleSK cycled the other half of the island. We had a good time! Those steep slopes almost throw me off my bike, of cos that didnt happened as i am holding on to my precious camera, cannot fall down. UncleSK had keep on reminding me the proper way to brake. We went back at about 5pm, after he finished praying at a thai temple there.

Oh man, the food (refer to pic) was nice, after a day of exercise... i loved the mee goreng, vege, prawns! Oh and there are cute dogs around! Check the pic!

Next time must go eat seefood, walk walk again... and you think the day has ended???

NO! we went to partyworld and ksong till 11+pm b4 heading back home. I was dozing off most of the time.
