caused by a reassortant H1N1 virus with gene segments from swine, avian and human strains, people has mild flu symptoms to severe viral pneumonia

Singapore status is ORANGE : Virus becoming increasingly better adapted to humans but may not yet be fully transmissible, requiring close contact with an index case. Larger clusters appear in one or two places outside Singapore but a pandemic has not yet been declared.

Practice good hygiene: Wash your hands thoroughly and regularly with soap and water; especially before touching your eyes, nose, or mouth and after going to the toilet
